The leafcutting bee is responsible for building a “nursery” for her larvae
in tubular cavities. She lines the hole with leaves and petals to create a
brood chamber for each egg. The leafcutter has a larger head than most bees
due to extra muscles to help them chew through leaves. They are one of the
best pollinators because the pollen on their abdomen falls off easily and
pollinates plants.
