Fall means hurricane… I hope!

We have our usual drought conditions here in the piedmont of North Carolina in August and September but sometimes a hurricane or tropical storm will bring rain.

Some plants like viburnum will drop all their leaves.

Autumn clematis bloom and Shiso/perilla, too!

And other fall bloomers and growers and plants respond to the cooler temps!

Rose-of-Sharon

Another flowering ginger- hedychium coccineum

Lycoris or hurricane lily

And bananas!

Time for the garden to slow down…..
