The Meadow along the road today…..background: there was a low area along the shoulder of the road where a drainage ditch was before the neighborhood was taken into the city limits in the late 80s. When the city placed the curb and gutter they did not make the new shoulder even with the old yard. It was a sharp dip off the new shoulder of the road then a rise up to the lawn. I knew the tree trimmers were going to make some big ruts in the yard when they removed the five trees in April so I ordered a load of soil to fill in the ruts from the tree trimming trucks and to level the yard with the road shoulder. I sowed several pounds of meadow wildflower seeds on the new soil to stabilize it until the lawn grass ( St Augustine and Centipede) grew back across the area.
