Christmas, almost,

The weather has been the usual- 50s during the day and 40s at night. We have a few nights as low as 28 and the snow the Basjoo bananas have frost bite!

But the pansies are still blooming!

And Christmas is everywhere!

And blooming Wintersweet

And cats of the garden

And a Hawks in the Garden

And Winter is a good time to work in the bones of your garden: repair and reset bricks and birdhouse and bee homes!

And walk around the city and check out the decorations before they are taken down:

Duke Center for the Performing Arts

And the newly complete local catholic cathedral : Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral

And wreaths!

Snow!!

A little snow at 3am!

The only reason I noticed it had snow because I woke up and noticed it was very bright outside and thought it was morning!

Nope! Only the light reflecting off all the snow!

Palmettos under snow!

More Fall bloomers

One of the most fragrant shrubs I’d blooming in the South right now!

Osmanthus!

They eventually reach 8 to10 wide and tall within 10 years and are loaded with small white fragrant blooms in October!

The bananas are large and lush by this time of the year but no bananas this year but many trees around Raleigh are showing their Fall colors!

And the large basjoo bananas and the short but  beautiful fruiting Pink Velvet Banana!
