Winter seem to have finally arrived! Temps in the 20s are now reminding the garden it’s time to sleep. Once the ground has frozen you can much most bulbs and beds. This prevents the ground from heaving from quick alternating freezes and thaws.

The first hard frost is expected within the next few days. The bananas have been blacked alittle with the last cold night but I am afraid that this one will be enough to kill then to the trunk. I might wrap then in leaves to try to preserve the trunks as much as possible. I hope to get them to bloom by next fall.
