It’s been an interesting week….

It’s been a crazy week with the political issues, weather, Judiasim classes, and Gus.

I will not even comment on the political stuff….. we will just wait and see what happens.

The weather has finally cooled and we had a light frost! Our usual first killing frost is around Thanksgiving. Not too far away. The maples are beautiful at this time of year!

The Nandinas are full of berries!

Camilla sasanquas Hana Jiman are blooming.

The Christmas decorations are appearing!

Fresh butternut squash soup is my favorite at this time of the year!

Unfortunately, Gus took a turn for the worst over the weekend and he was euthanized today. No more fighting the cancer. I took him to the coast a few weeks ago for a last visit to the parents and there are some pictures below.

Death in Judaism: death is not a tragedy, even when it occurs early in life or through unfortunate circumstances. Death is a natural process. Our deaths, like our lives, have meaning and are all part of God’s plan.

Some beautiful shots in  Beaufort, North Carolina waterfront.

And the Seafood!

It is the cycle of life!

Goodbye Gus.

So sorry to hear about Gus. He clearly had many wonderful years with you, so even though he has passed, your happy memories live on and therefore, he does too.

  2. I am so sorry to read this. It is hard to make that choice. But it is the right one to make. I believe that at some point we will be reunited with our good dogs who are just waiting for us, patiently, as always. I am thinking of you tonight.

I know you will miss Gus. They become a part of us. Great perspective you have on death. He’s at peace and your wonderful photos of trees and sunsets remind us of this.
